# Contact widget

> Add a contact widget to your Referly affiliate portal. Choose the button style and position, write a greeting, and give affiliates a booking link, email address, and Discord invite.

Affiliates with a question and no obvious way to ask it tend to go quiet instead of getting in touch. The contact widget is a small floating button on your affiliate portal that opens a short panel with your ways of being reached — a call booking link, your email address, and your Discord invite.

To find it, open **Settings** from the left sidebar, go to **Affiliate Portal**, then select **Contact Widget**.

The settings sit on the left and a live **Widget Preview** on the right updates as you type.

<Info>
  The contact widget needs the **Growth** or **Business** plan. See [plans and features](/docs/help-center/billing/plans-and-features).
</Info>

## Choose how the button looks

**Widget Type** sets what the floating button shows. Pick whichever fits your brand:

* **Icon** — a simple symbol. Pick one under **Choose Icon**.
* **Emoji** — an emoji of your choice, set under **Choose Emoji**.
* **Image Icon** — your own small image inside the round button.
* **Image** — your own image as the whole button.

For the two image options, use **Upload Image** to pick a picture from your Content Library.

Two color fields control the rest of the button. **Background Color** is the circle behind it and **Icon Color** is the symbol on top. Keep enough contrast between them that the button stays easy to see against your portal's background.

## Pick where it sits

**Widget Position** decides which corner of the portal the button floats in: **Bottom Right**, **Bottom Left**, **Top Right**, or **Top Left**.

Bottom right is what most people expect from a support button. Move it if it covers something on your portal, and check on a phone as well as a computer.

## Write the greeting

When an affiliate selects the button, a small panel opens with two lines of text at the top.

* **Greeting Title** is the heading. It shows "Contact us" if you leave it empty.
* **Greeting Subtitle** is the line underneath. It shows "Contact us if you have any questions" if you leave it empty.

Writing your own is worth the minute it takes — setting expectations here, like "We reply within one working day", saves you repeat questions.

## Add your contact options

These three fields are the point of the widget. Fill in the ones you actually want affiliates to use.

* **Book a Call Link** — a scheduling link, for example your Cal.com or Calendly page. It appears to affiliates as **Schedule a call**.
* **Contact Email** — the address affiliates should write to. It appears as **Contact support**, and opens their email app with your address already filled in. Leave it empty to use your account's email address.
* **Discord URL** — an invite link to your server. It appears as **Join discord**.

<Note>
  Any option you leave empty still shows in the panel, but greyed out and not selectable. Fill in at least one so affiliates have something to select.
</Note>

Messages don't arrive in Referly. Each option hands the affiliate off to the place you pointed it at, so replies land in your normal email inbox, your calendar, or your Discord server. Whichever you offer, make sure someone is watching it.

## Preview and turn it on

The **Widget Preview** on the right shows the button and its panel using your current settings, so you can check the look before affiliates see it.

Under the preview, the **Show Contact Widget** toggle controls whether the widget appears on your affiliate portal at all. Turn it on when you're happy with the setup. Leaving it off keeps everything you've configured saved but hides the widget.

When you've made a change, a **Save Changes** button appears at the bottom right. Nothing goes live until you select it.

<Check>
  When the "Contact widget saved successfully" message appears, your changes are live.
</Check>

## What affiliates see

The button floats in the corner you chose, on every page of the portal. Selecting it opens the panel with your greeting and your contact options.

Affiliates can open and close it as they like, and it doesn't get in the way of their [referral links](/docs/help-center/affiliates/referral-links) or [payout details](/docs/help-center/affiliates/payouts).

<Note>
  The greeting text you write stays in the language you wrote it in. The link labels around it follow the affiliate's chosen language. See [affiliate portal languages](/docs/help-center/settings/portal/languages).
