What each one is built for

Rewardful

Rewardful is affiliate tracking built tightly on Stripe. It is a Stripe Premier Partner and its own FAQ limits it to Stripe or Paddle by design. The product optimises for the shortest possible path from install to first commission (they measure 15-20 minutes), unlimited affiliates on every plan, and a 30-day no-questions refund that nobody else in the band offers.

FirstPromoter

FirstPromoter is affiliate tracking for subscription SaaS on Stripe, Chargebee or Paddle, with the most thorough self-documentation in the category. Its feature matrix covers email, portal, reports, tracking, payouts and fraud row by row. Its standout is built-in affiliate email automation: onboarding sequences and announcements without a separate tool.

Rewardful vs FirstPromoter: which should you pick?

Choose Rewardful if

  • You're Stripe-only or on Paddle
  • You expect to pass $5,000/mo in affiliate revenue soon. Its $49 covers $7,500
  • You want the 30-day no-questions refund
  • You want no cap on affiliate count at any plan

Choose FirstPromoter if

  • You bill through Chargebee
  • You'd use built-in affiliate email automation
  • You're under $5,000/mo and staying there
  • You want the most detailed feature documentation before you buy

For most Stripe-only SaaS companies, Rewardful is the better $49. You get $7,500/mo of affiliate-revenue headroom instead of $5,000, and no cap on affiliate count. Choose FirstPromoter if you bill through Chargebee, or if its built-in affiliate email automation is a feature you'd actually use.

Moving between them

Both tools export affiliates as CSV, and each ships an importer for the other. Referral links change domain unless you run a custom domain on both, so plan a short overlap where both scripts track. Commission plans have to be recreated by hand. Neither tool imports the other's rules. A small program moves in an afternoon; allow a week of parallel tracking before switching off the loser.

Full disclosure: we make one of these too

Full disclosure: Referly makes affiliate software too, and we wrote this page. We kept it to the facts, check every one against the links under each table. If neither fits, if you sell on Shopify as well as Stripe, or you need W-9 and W-8 forms collected. Referly is $75/mo and caps at $10,000/mo in affiliate revenue on its entry plan, the same shape of plan as both tools above.
