The meter
Two meters, and the second one is the expensive one
Affiliate revenue sets the plan. Payout volume sets the fee.
Tolt's revenue ladder is competitive and clearly published: $69 to $10,000/mo, $99 to $20,000, $199 to $50,000. On sticker and first cap it sits almost exactly alongside Referly's $75 to $10,000.
The second meter is where the two diverge. Automated payouts are not on Basic at all, and on Growth and above they carry a stated 2% processing fee on everything you pay out. At $20,000/mo in affiliate revenue that is $80 on top of the $99 plan. Referly gates automated payouts too, to Business at $149, and adds no percentage once you have them.

The fees on top
The fees on top
One fee, stated on their own page, attached to the feature most programs eventually want.
2% payout processing fee
$80/mo on $4,000 of payouts; $200 on $10,000
Verbatim from their pricing page: "Auto payouts (fast global payouts with 2% processing fee)". Applies on Growth, Pro and Enterprise. Basic has no automated payouts at all, so the fee cannot apply there.

No fee on sales
$0
Tolt takes no percentage of your sales or affiliate revenue. The 2% is on payouts specifically, which is a narrower base than a sales fee, and worth stating clearly rather than blurring the two.

Referly's own fees, in the same format: 0% transaction fee on every plan, meaning no cut of sales, affiliate revenue or commission volume. Two optional charges do carry a percentage and neither is a transaction fee: agency client billing at 5% / 2.5% / 1%, only if an agency invoices its clients through Referly, and Referly Payouts at 5% bank/ACH and 8% card, only if you use the managed payout rail.
Plan boundaries
What Basic doesn't include
The $69 plan is sized for one small program run by two or three people.
| Feature | Starts on | |
|---|---|---|
| Automated payouts (and with them, the 2% fee) | Growth ($99) | |
| Collecting W-9/W-8 forms and filing 1099s | Growth ($99) | |
| More than 2 programs | Growth ($99), 5 programs | |
| More than 3 partner groups | Growth ($99), 5 groups | |
| More than 3 team members | Growth ($99), 5 seats | |
| More than 3 commission flows | Growth ($99), 5 flows | |
| Unlimited programs, groups, seats and flows | Pro ($199) | |
| Shopify or WooCommerce tracking | Not available on any plan |
Referly gates things too, and on the same basis: automated payouts, EU self-billing invoices, W-9/W-8 collection and the custom portal domain all start on Business at $149. Coupon tracking and link tracking are on every plan, and sub-affiliate tiers are 2 levels, not unlimited.
Is Tolt worth the money?
Tolt is good value if
- You're under $10,000/mo and genuinely happy paying a handful of affiliates by hand
- At that band $69 undercuts every comparable plan including Referly's $75
- One or two programs and three seats is enough for how your team works
- You want the least product between you and a working affiliate link
It stops being good value when
- You automate payouts and 2% of every payout starts, permanently
- You need W-9s collected, which moves you to $99 whatever your revenue
- You pass $20,000/mo, where the plan plus the fee reaches $179
- You add a Shopify store, which no Tolt plan can track
Referly is $75/mo and caps at $10,000/mo on Startup, six dollars more than Tolt for the same ceiling. Automated payouts, W-9/W-8 collection and EU invoicing start on Business at $149, and once you have them there is no percentage on top. Referly also tracks Shopify, which Tolt does not.

Modelled with payouts automated, so Tolt sits on Growth and the 2% applies. Drop to manual payouts and Tolt's Basic plan is $69 against Referly's $75, the honest other half of this comparison.
At $10,000/mo in affiliate revenue with 200 affiliates and a 20% commission, Tolt comes to $139/mo on Growth and Referly to $149/mo on Business. Drag the sliders to your own numbers.
